Zoe Saldana, born June 19, 1978, was the son of Asalia Nazario, and Aridio Saldana. Her father is Dominican as is her mother Puerto Rican. She was born in Queens. As she reached the age of 10, she and her parents moved to Dominican Republic. They lived in the Dominican Republic for seven more years. Zoe began to develop a fascination for dancing while in the Dominican Republic. Her first training was with the ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy, where she studied ballet and other forms of dancing.
